Welcome to the schedule for Katsucon 19 in 2013!
Katsucon is an annual 3-day fan convention held in the D.C. metro area for multicultural enthusiasts and entertainment. Katsucon is produced by Katsucon Entertainment, Inc. (KEI), a 501(c)(3) educational non-profit organization dedicated to bringing information about Japanese animation, society, and traditional and popular culture to fans everywhere.
Lisle Wilkerson grew up in Tokyo, Japan. She is the powerhouse behind some of the gaming industry’s most popular female fighting characters, such as Nina Williams and Christie Monteiro, Sarah Bryant from Virtual Fighter, Shenmue II, just to name a few. Lisle was also in the Academy Award winning Sofia Coppola film “Lost In Translation”, as well as the award winning indie film “Kamataki”. Because Lisle speaks fluent Japanese, her voice work is in both English and Japanese. She has also done commercial work for such companies as Nissan, Panasonic, Sony, etc. In 2008 she decided to relocate to the United States, and it has been quite the interesting (and sometimes challenging!) experience adjusting to life here in the U.S. after living 35 years in Japan. This led Lisle to start her blog “Memoirs of a 6ft. Blond Geisha”. She currently lives in Los Angeles, where she continues to do voice work as well as interpreting work. She is also a local correspondent/producer for many Japanese media outlets, and covers everything from high-profile events like The Grammys, Academy Awards, Emmys and Golden Globes to live television and radio reports. Lisle also currently hosts two entertainment news programs in Japanese for television in Japan. And when Lisle isn’t busy working or running around the country doing cons, you might find her in her pink boxing gloves trying to save the world Nina Williams-style or spending her time at home with her adorable jet-setting “bilingual” cat, Princess Genki.
